How fast can you type?

Good typing speed is pretty important if you're a programmer or someone who needs to type a lot. I don't type much now a days but somehow my speed still remains above 80 WPM (according to this site). About a year ago, my speed was close to 87 WPM but lack of practice lowered the number a bit.

I've been practicing again for past couple of days and my current speed at a laptop keyboard is 80 to 86 WPM (with 100% accuracy) and 85 to 95 WPM at a desktop keyboard.

What's your speed?

I can type fast, same as you do. And I give my thumbs up to my father because he was the one who taught me how to type fast and accurately (using the correct fingers).

I can type about 80-90 words per minute if I have to look at something on a piece of paper and then retype it. (At least that's what I was at when I last took a typing test)

But I think if I'm typing when I'm just writing it's a lot faster because I don't have that problem of losing my place on the piece of paper.
